Had a really good time yesterday( 23-08-2014) at the OME Community Workshop conducted by Web Marketing Academy. The Workshop was basically meant to throw light on “How Pinterest can be used for business”. It had a surprising yet fun filled start by Mr. Suresh Babu, who tried to break the ice by encouraging each participant to give a self-introduction and talk to atleast 1 person whom we dint know. After making the ambiance comfortable, Mr. Kushal BK, the social Media Strategist at WMA, introduced us to the 3rd most popular hot social networking topic ” PINTEREST”. He walked us through many concepts from creating a basic business account to strategizing it for business.
I was pretty much amazed by a few Pinterest facts. For ex, did you know that Pinterest drives more traffic than the combined traffic of google+, youtube and LinkedIn? And around 80% of pinterest users in the world consisted of women. So, be smart as you Pin ;). Your pins have 23% more chances of being repined if you avoid human face on the image. Make use of bright and vibrant colors especially dark red, green and pink which has 20% more share rate than the usual pins. Apart from using Pinterest for ideas, research, and entertainment, I was delighted to learn that it also helps in brand awareness, gaining traffic and getting conversions. The session ended on a positive note as Mr.Suresh encouraged all the people who were from different business backgrounds to create an account and play around with it. It was an interesting session on the whole and am thankful to Web Marketing Academy for conducting such a great event which gave an opportunity to be updated on digital Marketing trends.
